Amada EMK Parameter Errors (1000–1016) – Diagnosis & Recovery Guide
Amada EMK parameter errors in the 1000 series indicate a configuration mismatch between control parameters and machine hardware.
These alarms do not represent isolated faults. The control blocks operation because a required subsystem cannot be validated.
Do not reset and continue.
Incorrect parameter states propagate into turret errors, clamp faults, and servo instability.

Amada EMK Troubleshooting
Scope – Parameter Errors Covered
This section covers AMADA EMK parameter-related alarms:
- 1000 – INDEX TOOL NOT SELECTED
- 1005 – LUBRICATION PARAM OFF
- 1006 – MACHINE PARAM OFF
- 1009 – LINE PARAM OFF
- 1010 – POSITIONER PARAM OFF
- 1013 – WORK SCRATCH PARAM OFF
- 1015 – MP PARAMETER OFF
- 1016 – TK PARAM OFF
Parameter Recovery Procedure
1. Capture Current State
- Record all K-parameters
- Save backup if available
2. Confirm Machine Configuration
Verify physically:
- Lubrication system
- Clamp positioner
- Automation / takeout
- Standalone vs line operation
3. Map Alarm → Parameter
Do not guess. Each alarm corresponds to a defined parameter bit.
4. Correct Configuration
- Installed system → parameter ON
- Not installed → parameter OFF
5. Validate After Change
- Cycle power if required
- Test subsystem independently
- Monitor for secondary alarms
Parameter Errors (1000–1016)
1000 – INDEX TOOL NOT SELECTED
Condition:
Index operation requested without valid tool call.
Control Meaning:
Turret cannot execute index cycle.
Physical Cause:
- Missing T command
- Undefined tool station
- Turret not homed
Action:
- Verify program tool call
- Home turret
- Confirm tool data
1005 – LUBRICATION PARAM OFF
Condition:
K22.6 = 0
Control Meaning:
Automatic lubrication disabled.
Physical Cause:
- Parameter reset
- Configuration mismatch
Action:
- If lubrication unit installed → set K22.6 = 1
- Verify pump cycle
- Restart control
1006 – MACHINE PARAM OFF
Condition:
Core configuration invalid (K0–K5)
Control Meaning:
Base machine definition not established.
Physical Cause:
- Incorrect parameter set
- Control replacement without restore
Action:
- Verify full K0–K5 group
- Compare with factory data or identical machine
- Do not adjust individual bits blindly

1009 – LINE PARAM OFF
Condition:
K50.0 = 0
Control Meaning:
Line/automation mode disabled.
Physical Cause:
- Standalone configuration
- Missing automation parameters
Action:
- Enable if connected to line
- Otherwise confirm all automation parameters are OFF
1010 – POSITIONER PARAM OFF
Condition:
K11.3 = 0
Control Meaning:
Clamp positioner not enabled.
Physical Cause:
- Parameter mismatch
- Positioner not installed
Action:
- Enable if automatic clamps installed
- Disable if manual system
- Verify clamp travel and sensors
1013 – WORK SCRATCH PARAM OFF
Condition:
Workholder configuration disabled.
Control Meaning:
Work support system not defined.
Physical Cause:
- Incorrect base configuration
- Parameter mismatch
Action:
- Verify workholder type
- Align parameters to physical setup
1015 – MP PARAMETER OFF
Condition:
Manipulator parameter disabled.
Control Meaning:
Material handling system not configured.
Physical Cause:
- MP system not installed
- Parameter lost or reset
Action:
- Enable only if system exists
- Otherwise ensure related parameters remain OFF
1016 – TK PARAM OFF
Condition:
Takeout / loader parameter disabled.
Control Meaning:
Machine expects output handling system.
Physical Cause:
- Automation mismatch
- Incorrect configuration load
Action:
- Enable if takeout system installed
- Verify line parameter (K50.0)
- Disable for standalone machines
Failure Patterns
Parameter errors typically originate from:
- Control replacement without parameter restore
- Incorrect backup loaded
- Mixed configurations between machines
- Manual parameter edits without verification
Once introduced, these errors affect multiple subsystems.
System Impact
Unresolved parameter errors will lead to:
- Turret index faults
- Clamp positioning errors
- Servo instability
- Program execution failure
Resolve parameter configuration before addressing secondary alarms.
